Based off of confirmed moonsightings as verified by the Chicago Hilal-Sighting Committee, the Islamic Center observed the first day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah on Wednesday, November 18th. As such, we will be celebrating Eid ul-Adha, the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah, on Friday, November 27th.

We will be holding Eid prayers inshallah at the Islamic Center located at 371 6th Avenue, on the corner of 6th avenue and Washington Place. Eid Prayers will begin at 9:00am and will be followed by brunch. Both prayers and the brunch are open to everyone, nyu and non-nyu, so feel free to attend inshallah even if you are not an NYU student, faculty member, or part of the staff.

For directions to the Islamic Center please visit our website at www.icnyu.org

If you are interested in helping out with Brunch, please email Imam Khalid Latif at kl442@nyu.edu

a new initiative to bring Harmony to NYU

A Campaign Against Hate. Join the Islamic Center at NYU and various other clubs and campus organizations for a teach-in to create a united voice against intolerance. Hate affects people of every race, religion, ethnicity and sexual orientation – so stand (and learn) in solidarity with fellow students and faculty to work for harmony at NYU.

Professors, students and other community leaders will lead the teach-in with stories and ways we can learn to fight for tolerance. The event will also include acappella and spoken word performances. In remembrance of the recent tragedy at Fort Hood, the event will end with a moment of silence for the victims.

Learn to listen and take a stand against hate.
